ReardonSmith landscape were appointed by Loveday & Co, an award-winning provider of specialist dementia and senior care, to create a garden for their care home on Abbey Road.

The focus of the design was to create a refined and welcoming home-from-home experience. The landscape was designed to run seamlessly out from the building, with a richly layered sensory garden designed in best practice of dementia care, tailored to evoke memories and created with longevity in mind to imbue a sense of ‘Refined Elegance’.

The plant list was carefully composed from ‘dementia friendly’ plants offering particular value for each of the 5 senses; soft Stachys byzantia, striking Echinacea purpurea, scented Lavandula angustifolia and rustling Pennisetum villosum are all examples of plants which featured in the planting design for the gardens.
