ReardonSmith Landscape was approached by the Client to create a showpiece garden for the lobby lounge for small formal events and to provide an outdoor dining offer for the signature restaurant.

A series of curved feature walls embrace the space creating privacy and shelter and also provide planting zones above the basement slab in which to plant trees and shrubs for the garden space. The natural stone selected seeks to create a warm tonal palette that closely matches the architectural limestone facade with a central feature water wall providing a focus to the space.

The climatic extremes in Astana vary dramatically, from +40 in summer to -40 in winter and as such a robust evergreen palette of trees and shrubs were carefully selected to be able to withstand the local conditions and provide a verdant backdrop during the summer months.
